Congratulations, you're pregnant!!! Now you can throw away all caution and eat like crazy! After all, you're eating for two now!
Umm... no... let's slow down for one minute. Just because you are pregnant does not mean you should get lost in the world of junk food and caffeine. If you are urged to eat healthily prior to pregnancy and afterward, why would any of that change once you are pregnant? Why would pregnancy be an excuse for you to go wild and crazy on an eat-a-thon?
Well, as sad as this may come to several pregnant women, during your pregnancy, you are encouraged to push yourself to eat even healthier. Pregnant women are urged to drink plenty of water, in order to keep themselves and their babies well hydrated. Chemically prepared dietary supplements are often discouraged and replaced with a balanced whole foods diet. If the food pyramid has never meant anything to you before, during your pregnancy, you should look into following the recommended food types and servings. You will need to choose foods from the food groups in order to ensure you and your baby get the nutrients you need.
